As Aromatherapy oils are extremely concentrated, they should not be applied undiluted directly to the skin.
A carrier oil should be used. Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas. Certain oils should be avoided during specific
health conditions, while others may be wonderfully appropriate. Please check directions before using. Store essential oils
in a cool dark place, and keep containers tightly closed when not in use. When buying essential oils, it is important to be able to discern genuine plant essences from synthetically manufactured imitations. Essential oils are usually more expensive, but there is no substitute for quality, and the price of oils will vary from oil to oil. It is best to buy your oils from a specialist supplier. Many Chemists and Health Shops will carry the top brands but for those of you having problems finding somewhere, Sunspirit have a wonderful range. |

The following few recipes are my favorite ones which I use for everything, from adding to incense blends,
burning in an oil burner, or plugging into the cigarette lighter in my car. (in a special device) The quantities are given as a % because I like to make up 10ml bottles at any given time, but you could do them as drops. The best blends are made up of base, middle and top notes. Experiment until you hit upon one you like, but in the meantime try mine. |

And now for something a little different. . . . I found this sometime ago and use it every morning my kids go to school. People ask me, does it work. I have to say yes as my kids have never suffered head lice. (or they just be damn lucky.) Preventative Spray for Head Lice 50mls of water 3 drops of solubaliser 6 drops of bergamot 6 drops of lavender and 6 drops of lemon Solubalizer helps mix oils with water and is available from Sunspirit Mix all into a spritzer, shake well and spray into hair daily. Treatment Blend (Just in case) 50 mls of Apricot Kernel Oil 10 drops of geranium 10 drops of eucalyptus 15 drops of lavender and 15 drops of rosemary Massage into dry hair and scalp.Leave for at least two hours. Before wetting hair to wash, massage shampoo into hair then add water, lather and rinse well. Follow with the preventative spray for three weeks. Precaution * * Do not use on children under 2 years of age. For children for 3 to 5 years, use 1/2 the quantity of essential oils in above recipes. |
